NEWS

In a world where good news can seem awfully hard to come by, we're finding projects that offer hope and a sense of possibility. We're currently engaged four such projects that are close to our heart and speak directly to the reason we founded Boston Filmworks.

We've just finished a series of documentary style profiles for a Boston nonprofit called Hospitality Homes, whose mission it is to find volunteers willing to share their homes with families and individuals coming to Boston hospitals for life-saving medical treatments. Our team fell in love with one of the patients and his family, six-year-old Christian. So much so that we couldn't resist following his story down to Oklahoma where he lives. Cliches like 'heart-warming' don't do justice to his story, but, if you haven't already, please check it out at https://www.bostonfilmworks.com/hospitality-homes.

We're working on an ongoing film for the Woman's Lunch Place, a terrific multi-service center for homeless women, about to celebrate it's fortieth anniversary in Boston's Back Bay. We'll keep you updated with teasers and samples as the October celebration approaches, but we're proud to work with such a wonderful, selfless group of people as the staff at WLP and with the woman who are so generously sharing their stories.

Also on our plate is a film for Essex County Greenbelt Association, a land trust working to conserve wildlife habitat, farmland and scenic landscapes on Boston's Northshore. To fly a drone over wildlife habitat seems counterintuitive, but we fly high so as not to disturb fauna and we've captured some really beautiful vistas, beginning last winter and continuing through this autumn.

Most recently, we're about to begin a collaboration with Middlebridge School in Narragansett, Rhode Island, a pioneering school in the field of educating kids with learning differences. We sent a team to their graduation last spring, as a sort of scouting/get acquainted trip and we had a terrific time. Everything we'd expected from our initial discussion: great kids, great teachers, warm vibe, spectacular campus. This is one we can't wait to get started on.

That's about it from here. But we're really excited about the broad gamut of projects we've undertaken. Check out the News page for updates, and thanks
